I love music, friends, and video.
A Rhode Island native 32french has been Djing for 10 years, playing a mixture of House, Broken Beat, Hip Hop, Minimal, Tech, DnB, 8 bit and IDM. Hip Hop is his first love, but has since adopted house music into his life. He has played indoors and out, from Maine to Mass., and beyond. His style of music ranges from the soulful to the downright bizzare and is never afraid to stretch the limits of the human ear. He has recently started producing tracks some of which you will hear on Channel Zero (must have winamp Shoutcast service). His new mix will be posted soon so look for that.

Once upon a time I found a keyboard in my basement and started messing around on it. Pianos and keyboards always seemed to attract my attention through the years so I thought I may be good at it. Now here I am finding myself not so bad and decided to make something out of it. Music is a big part of my life, always has been (thanx to my father) and always will be. I try to go more for the abstract feel and hope to create a sense of difference from any other type of music. Whether or not it's perceived that way that is my goal. I do work with a very talented musician, Miltos, that has inspired me beyond belief and hope that I am anywhere near as talented as him someday. We've worked on some songs together that have created a great mix of individuality. This is my music and I hope you enjoy.

Luch and Eliza met in college in 2003; they had both been making music separately for several years. They combined forces along with their friends from college (S2 and Crosswords) and formed a group called “Syndicate.” Recently personnel commitments as well as distance has made it harder for them to get together as a whole; however they still managed to produce three mix tapes. They were recently featured in Boston Hip-Hop Pages premier issue of their East Coast Hip-Hop Magazine and are getting weekly spins on WUMF radio as well as the internet web-station HeatPartyRadio.com. Their Myspace page has only been up and running since 1/30/06, has accumulated 26,000 plays and made 4800 friends. Luch and Eliza’s musical background is evident in their love for creating music. They have both been playing their own instruments, and writing their own songs for many years. Eliza has been playing piano for 15 years, and learned to appreciate the art of music at a very young age. She Placed 2nd in Central Maine’s Idol and has won several piano competitions. Luch grew up with hip-hop and started writing and recording his own material at the age of 14 and has also played guitar for a number of years. He was chosen out of 5000 applicants to compete in MTV’s Freestyle Battle in New York and has won local battles throughout the area. Luch and Eliza have kept a strong hold on their passion for music, and continued to make tracks in their makeshift apartment studio. All their material is original with beats produced by E-Dub and The Kid; they have also collaborated with many other talented MC’s and producers. They continue to perform shows around local areas in Maine such as; Wiscasset, Brunswick, Madison, Portland, and Farmington, and are currently trying to get studio time to record a new album.

DJ Graymatter, the White Heart, December 12, 2006
By SONYA TOMLINSON
The Portland Phoenix - December 20, 2006
Imagine your friend kicks everyone out of their holiday party because they’re tired of dancing and sharing their wine. Where are you going to go? The White Heart, of course. It’s almost like a friend’s house in that you can feel comfortable going alone because chances are you’ll end up seeing a handful of friends or at least acquaintances to chat with on any given night. Not to mention, unlike your party pooper friend, they’re reliable in that they’re open seven days a week and will keep serving drinks until closing time. Granted, it can be a tough place for live entertainment when it’s packed, with the lack of a raised stage — but it’s the ideal environment for a deejay.
Last Tuesday I stopped in to the White Heart to take in some DJ Graymatter. Shocked at the minimal crowd, I checked my watch. Yes, 9:30 is too early to expect the masses, even at the ever-popular White Heart. The atmosphere was very chill. Graymatter was spinning some old soul that blended so fittingly with the scene that I had to make sure he was actually on. Indeed, he was positioned with headphones on and next record to drop in hand. That’s the mark of a good deejay — one who knows how to play the background when necessary yet can gauge the crowd and adjust their set accordingly. After people filled in and the room’s noise and energy level increased, so did Graymatter’s. The songs became jazzier, more full, more daring. My personal favorite of the evening was Dennis Coffey’s version of “Never Can Say Goodbye,” made known by Michael Jackson. Coffey, a guitarist with a ’70s flair, gives a totally different spin to this familiar track. It was one of those songs that I just had to go up and interrupt him to find out who it was. That’s when you’ve done good — when you interest someone enough who knows better than to disturb you, so you can introduce them to new artists and songs.
